Gro Baby Organic Soaker Pad, White, 2 Pack

July 1, 2010

Cheap Gro Baby Organic Soaker Pad, White, 2 Pack Review

What sets these soakers apart from most of the other shell / soaker systems we have tried is that these not only snap in place, but have ELASTIC around the legs to help hug the liner to your babe. Even if the shell is a bit gappy (which we have not encountered), the liner will also fit snugly against baby’s bottom to help contain blow-outs, keeping your shell cleaner through more uses. These soakers are sooo soft and they really do absorb a ridiculous amount of liquid. We have used BumGenius, Thirsties, gDiapers, Kushies, and GroBaby and the GroBaby takes the cake for shell / soaker systems. I love these things!

American Baby Company Organic Waterproof Quilted Crib and Toddler Pad

Cheap American Baby Company Organic Waterproof Quilted Crib and Toddler Pad Review

I was concerned about my original pad that I purchased when you do the massive buy everything at Babies R Us when you have your first. Over time, it just seemed so flimsy and gross after so many washings. But THIS IS AWESOME- well worth the money. I have some very plush sheets (like those uber soft travel pillows) that I got from One Step Ahead (get them they’re awesome too)… and now with this cover, the bed is super soft and really I think just what I wanted. Great buy- worth the money.

Jobe’s 6028 Organic Vegetable Fertilizer Food Spikes, 50-Pack

Cheap Jobe’s 6028 Organic Vegetable Fertilizer Food Spikes, 50-Pack Review

I use these on my tomatoes and hot peppers with good success. These spikes should also work well for any kind of fruiting vegetable.

The spikes last for 8 weeks at a time, and provides a nice, steady slow release fertilizer. This makes for very convenient gardening.

For tomatoes I use them at half the recommended rate, and supplement with potassium and magnesium rich fertilizers (epsom salt, greensand, wood ash, miracle-gro for tomatoes).

For hot peppers I use them at 1/3 the recommended rate and a small amount of epsom salt (these plants don’t need much fertilizer, but are somewhat magnesium hungry).

My crops on both kinds of plants are great, and I’m quite happy with these. I only wish they had a low-nitrogen spike with more potassium in it for tomatoes (ie: 2-6-7, instead of 2-7-4)

Cheap HAPPYBABY Organic Puffs, Banana Puffs, 2.1-Ounce Containers (Pack of 6) Review

We introduced this when our little one was 6-7 months old. She’s 10 months old now and still enjoys it thoroughly. Apart from her eating it ..it helped tremendously in her picking abilities and other motor skills development. It helped us also to have dinner together with her sitting on the high chair and enjoying her puffs.

Naturepedic No Compromise Organic Cotton Classic 252 Crib Mattress

April 26, 2010

Cheap Naturepedic No Compromise Organic Cotton Classic 252 Crib Mattress Review

My four-month-old has slept soundly on this mattress from day one. More than that, though, I have slept soundly knowing that she is spending the majority of her first year of life sleeping on what is an incredibly well-researched and well-worth-it crib mattress.

I spent hours scouring the internet to find the best genuinely organic crib mattress for the best price. I found that many do not meet fire safety standards, while others claim to be organic but still have chemicals like boric acid sprinkled inside. This mattress meets all industry standards while also being completely safe for your little one. It has won numerous awards for good reason.

The features that caused me to choose this one over the slightly cheaper option were the side seams, which should be great for preventing seepage into the mattress, and the softer-on-one-side option. Seems like that will be great for when our little one is a bit older and will appreciate having a bit less rigidity under her.

I have continued to hear more good things about Naturepedic since purchasing this mattress. It certainly seems to be an excellent company with the best organic mattress available on the market, and the price is as good or better than other mattresses which may or may not be as well-tested and as thoroughly organic. Overall, I am very satisfied with our decision and with this mattress, and I thoroughly recommend this product.

One thing to note is that you will need a mattress cover with this mattress. I haven’t purchased one yet, but an extra sheet underneath my little girl during these winter months has kept the mattress from feeling too cool against her face.

Green Sprouts Organic Velour Ball

Cheap Green Sprouts Organic Velour Ball Review

My son is 9 months old and is beginning to like this toy more. He enjoys watching me throw it in the air and roll it around. Just yesterday I moved his foot to kick it and he got a giggle out of it. For his age I think the string makes it easier for him to grab and the rattle inside makes it more interesting. Knowing it’s organic makes me feel more comfortable about him mouthing it. Now if only I could get him to stop mouthing all the things that aren’t organic!

Cheap Bumkins Organic Cotton Washcloth 3-Pack – Dusty Blue Review

These washcloths are the perfect size and weight for my baby. Many washcloths are too thick or too thin. These are just right. I’ve washed them several times and they seem to hold up and keep their soft texture.

Sojos Certified Organic Catnip

March 6, 2010

Cheap Sojos Certified Organic Catnip Review

I am not one to jump on the whole “organic” band wagon and usually feel its just another way for companies to charge more for their product. Despite this and after reading some of the other reviews we decided to spoil our cat and see how this compared to the stuff you can buy at some of the chain pet stores.

Our cat loves this stuff!!! He has always liked catnip but goes WILD for this! All you have to do is tap the top of the tin and he comes running.

The catnip seems to be of good quality not many sticks and seems to be worth the price, we will buy again.
