Cheap Tradewinds Classic [Game Download] Review

I enjoyed this game and the time went by faster than I realized as you get envolved. Easy to learn and some key decisions to make in your quest to become a successful master trader. I did not give it a five star as there could have been more ports with a wider variety of cargo and surprises. The graphics were fun however simpistic. The game is not very complicated an in that there are pros and cons….good for everyone, however the true gamester will tire of it fast. For the money…it is a good buy and not a good bye. Loup

Cheap Feeding Frenzy 2 [Game Download] Review

The reason the game can be played over and over again is because the game isn’t very long. It may look it outright based on the map. But believe me, it’s not that long. But the game itself is very fun. You will get hours of enjoyment out of it. It is very challenging at points so you won’t grow tired because of “easiness”.

Cheap Tales of Monkey Island: Chapter 2 [Game Download] Review

(*with Voodoo root beer apparently)
I have to hand it to Telltale: Chapter 1 was fun. I especially liked the Blade Runner reference at the end; it was well handled like the rest of the gags.
So, when rumors of Chapter 2 began emerging on the Steam forums(I bought the 5 chapter pack on Steam), I was very excited.
I wasn’t disappointed.
Chapter 2 is even more fun than the first(although some of the fun in unintentional,to be discussed later in this review). The err…”mer-people” are hilarious; the androgyny is well played(vaguely reminds me of Omega of Mechanical Animals, an album by Marylin Manson).

Your items from Chapter One carry over(not sure what happens if you don’t have a Chapter One savefile but I assume you start off with the same stuff), and they are still of use to you, from that lovely pyrite parrot (yes there are gags involving the “Mighty Pirate”) to that mysterious locket.
The game is, dare I say, easier than the first chapter, with the first half being easier, while the second part left me scratching my head sometimes(yes I did go on the fourms after a couple of hours of being stuck in a part, afterwords facepalming :) ). Thankfully there isn’t a “maze” sequence;in Chapter One the directions were a bit ambiguous(but admittedly not too different from Secret of Monkey Island). Oh, and no insult swordfighting; the newly introduced character mentions that its “only for farmboys now”(”Well you fight like one”). Also, she is a huge fan of Guybrush and can hold her breath for 5 minutes :)

My one gripe? When you get to Spinner Cay the mast repair…er…”person” can swim down to meet you basically at your boat, but it forces you to come to its store for a repair every time. The store is not a long walk from the dock but when its the fourth time you broke your mast(assuming Winston’s first hint doesn’t help) it does get a bit annoying to make that walk.

The unintentional fun? In one part you sink a ship after insulting another captain and managing to get the fired cannonball to hit the attacking captain’s ship;however, the game acts like he’s still there and allows you talk to him like his ship was still there. In addition, the door to the lower deck of his ship is left floating. There is another part involving the parrot that has a similar bug(its right before the “invisible pirate captain” BTW, you can get another pyrite turtle and hang it up on…) that is even funnier.
However, there is one bug that does detract from the experience, compression or something like that has degraded the quality of the voice acting, so there are problems with “s” sounds especially. I thought it was a problem with my integrated sound but apparently even X-Fi sound cards have this problem.
Overall a fun game for almost all ages. However if you count Halo 3/CS/GoW/CoD as your favorite games and nothing else you will be disappointed; the action is of course, a bit slow.
I strongly recommend this game to almost all(and even if you like twitch FPSes you should still try the demo) and from what I hear the Wii version isn’t too bad either, although they are a bit behind in releasing chapters for WiiWare.

Buying on Amazon means you can buy chapters individually, however try the demo and if you like it, buy the bundle. at the very least you get two good chapters out of 5.

Cheap Can You See What I See [Game Download] Review

This is a hidden object game, but it’s a hidden object game with a twist. Game play involves looking for a list of hidden objects, but the scenes are close-ups of similar objects- buttons, stamps, stuffed animals, etc. A magnifier allows close-up views of complicated collections, allowing one to search for all sorts of small objects. For fans of hidden object games, this game offers a refreshing new twist.
